Minister Van Rawls

Van F. Rawls, Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Van Sr. and Jeannie Marie Rawls. He is a product of the School District of Philadelphia, having graduated from Roxborough High School. Van attended Temple University for his undergraduate work and McDaniel College for graduate school. He is a career educator, having taught middle school, high school, and college level mathematics for over 15 years. Van also has military experience having served in the United States Army.
Van came to a saving knowledge of Jesus as Lord and Savior in December of 1993. He was baptized and united with Voice of Deliverance COGIC. At Voice of Deliverance, Van served in various areas of ministry, including serving in the men’s department and as a trustee. In May of 2002, Van united with the former Glendale Baptist Church, currently the Sanctuary at Kingdom Square. In September of 2006, Van preached his initial sermon under the leadership of Pastor Anthony G. Maclin of The Sanctuary. While at the Sanctuary, Minister Rawls served in the Special Needs Ministry in addition to being the Lead Instructor of The Sanctuary School of Ministry. In February of 2014, Minister Rawls felt lead to unite with the launch team of Uplift Church under the leadership of Pastor Marquez Ball.
Van Rawls is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated and is the Executive Minister of Uplift Church of Laurel, Maryland.
