What Does It Mean To Accept Christ?

Our Sin

We are all born with a sin nature, must like a child not learning to lie. Because of our sin, we are unable to have a relationship with God without forgiveness.

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:23

God’s Gift

We can’t earn God’s forgiveness – it must be given. Jesus gave His life as a sacrifice so that we could be forgiven. Jesus Christ is the one that bridged a divide between us and God.

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Our Response

We must accept this free gift of salvation from God by committing our lives and heart to Jesus.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Public Declaration

Baptism shows others that you have been made new. It represents your old sinful life being washed clean because of your faith in Jesus. It’s a public deceleration of an inward decision.

For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Romans 6:4

If you’ve made the decision to follow Christ, baptism is one of the most meaningful next steps you can take. Baptism is a public celebration of your decision to follow Christ. If you’d like to learn more about baptism click here >>>

What Do Christians Believe?

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and was written by men as God’s revelation of Himself to man.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness 2 Timothy 16

God

We believe there is one and only one living and true God. God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! 1 John 3:1

But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name. John 20:31

And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. 1 Corinthians 2:12

Evangelism

We believe it is the duty and privilege of every believer of Jesus Christ to take the gospel forward and make disciples of all people through both a verbal witness and a holy lifestyle that is consistent with our faith.

But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:5

Make Prayer Part of Your Day

Prayer is talking to God, and there’s nothing more powerful than asking for God’s help. But it doesn’t stop there, God also speaks to us during prayer, take time to learn His voice and listen to His direction for you.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6

Give

Tithing reflects a grateful heart that wants to give back to God a portion of what He has given us; in reality, what is already His. Tithing is our opportunity to show God that He is first in our lives.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
